What happens if I don't pass the quiz?

You have 3 chances to pass the quiz with a 70% or higher score.

Is opioid education required for license renewal?
Optometrists with active DEA licenses are required to complete a minimum of 3 hours opioid continuing education for each license renewal.
Does the 3 hours fulfill the Arizona Board of Optometry requirement for Opioid Education for Optometrists with DEA licenses?

Yes, the information below is the answer we received from the active executive director in March 2020.

Pursuant to A.A.C. R4-21-210, the Board accepts all COPE approved courses without further Board approval.

 

R4-21-210 Approval of Continuing Education

A. The Board approves the following as Continuing Education: 

1. An internship, residency, or fellowship attended at an educational institution with an accredited optometry program; and 

2. An educational program designed to provide understanding of current developments, procedures, or treatments, or improve skills related to the practice of the profession of optometry and: 

a. Provided by an educational institution with an accredited optometry program; or 

b. Sponsored or approved by the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry, The Council on Optometric Practitioner Education, or a local, regional, or national optometric association. 

Can I take the course at my own pace and watch the videos when I want?
Yes, however, you have 30 days from the date of purchasing the courses to complete the courses. You also have watch each video in it's in entirety once you start the video, you may pause the video and return but you cannot stop and close out and return to where you left off.
